TWO caravans were destroyed when a fire broke out at a travellers site in Hampshire last night.
Occupants in one of the caravans woke to smell burning at about 11.55pm and saw something smoking underneath the caravan parked at Paynes Hill in Southampton.
Fire crews from Hightown were sent to the Botley Road site where they found the pair of caravans near the entrance “completely destroyed”.
It is believed there were two occupants in the caravans and no one was injured.
Police do not believe there was anything suspicious about the fire while the residents were found alternative accommodation.
