A Southampton dog owner is celebrating success today after her animal won one of the top prizes at Crufts.
Loki, a Hungarian Vizsla owned by Tracy Hunt from Shirley won the Kennel Club Large Novice ABC (Anything But Collies) Agility competition after battling it out against nine other finalists at the world’s greatest dog show.
All the finalists competing had qualified at the semi-finals at Eukanuba Discover Dogs in October 2015.
Proud owner Tracey said: “It feels fantastic to win, I’m really happy. We decided to take it slow and steady and hoped that we’d get two clear rounds, which we managed to do so that worked well. It’s always fun being here and this year is no different.”
Caroline Kisko, secretary of the Kennel Club, which stages Crufts, said: “The ABC Agility competition is a wonderful event, and it’s so fantastic seeing all the different breeds of dog competing in agility. It is such a great sport, for both the dog and the owner.
“Loki and Tracy’s performance at Crufts was brilliant and they worked very well as a team, which is crucial when competing in agility at Crufts. We would like to congratulate them on their achievement.”
