A ROBBER made off with thousands of pounds after a raid at a post office.
A man entered the Best One store on Rumbridge Street in Totton throught he staff entrance at the back of the shop at 5.35pm yesterday.
He knocked at the door of the Post Office inside the store and when the member of staff opened the door, the offender forced his way in. He then took cash and some foreign currency.
The man police want to speak to is described as 6ft 1 to 6ft 2, of a broad/stocky build and wearing a dark hooded top and dark trousers with a white stripe.
He was carrying a black rucksack and wearing black gloves.
Acting Detective Sergeant Dave Brunsden, said: “I am appealing for anyone with information about this robbery to come forward and speak to us. The offender got away with a substantial amount of cash. Do you know anyone who has recently acquired a lot of money? Do you think you might know who is responsible? If you have any information, please get in touch as soon as possible.”
