SOUTHAMPTON Indian restaurant Tiffin Club and its sister restaurant in Winchester became the first ethnic restaurants in the UK to join the Country Land and Business Association's Just Ask local food campaign.
Launched by the former Prime Minister Tony Blair at 10 Downing Street in January, the campaign encourages people to ask where their food comes from.
Food businesses across the country have signed up to Just Ask, but today Tiffin Club led the drive for local sourcing in the ethnic food sector.
Tiffin Club owner Abdul Kayum, pictured (left) with head chef Sebastian Fernandes, said: "I grew up in Winchester where my mum managed to cook wonderful Indian food using local ingredients.
"This has served as an inspiration for Tiffin Club and is the basis of our philosophy here."
