A CHILDREN'S soft-play area has been given a one-out-of-five food hygiene rating.
Partyman World of Play in Eastleigh has been slammed by watchdogs for poor hygienic food handling and food safety.
The play area, at the Swan Centre, was given the score following an assessment on December 15, the Food Standards Agency's website shows.
Partyman World staff said they are "very disappointed" with the score.

A spokesperson told the Daily Echo: "We have been very proud of achieving five stars since 2016 and this is something that we hope to receive when we get our re-visit in the next few weeks."
Details on the Food Standards Agency's website show that "major improvement was necessary" with the management of food safety.
This includes systems or checks in place to ensure that food sold or served is safe to eat, evidence that staff know about food safety, and the food safety officer has confidence that standards will be maintained in the future.
Inspectors also found that improvement was "necessary" with hygienic food handling, such as preparation, cooking, re-heating, cooling and storage.

The cleanliness and condition of the facility were found to be "generally satisfactory".
The Daily Echo approached Eastleigh Borough Council for the full report but the council declined to provide it.
The council claims it has now changed its approach when a food business has been found to breach the food hygiene legislation during an inspection.
The council says it will work with businesses to ensure that work is carried out and will monitor them closely to ensure that compliance is maintained.
A spokesperson said: "During that period, were we to find serious non-compliance with relevant legislation and in accordance with our enforcement policy, we would consider whether it was necessary to take legal action.
"Any reports of visits may then be used as evidence and until the ongoing monitoring has been completed we cannot release any reports."
