CELEBRATED singer and Classic FM presenter Aled Jones MBE will be touring his latest number one album when he embarks on a 22-date Cathedral Tour of the UK next month.
Aled’s new album One Voice was released on Friday and currently it’s the classical number one album on Amazon and iTunes.
And with just a few weeks until the household name wows audiences across the UK as he visits cathedrals in England, Scotland and Wales, fans are promised a totally new experience as Aled performs songs he first recorded as a child, and will even duet with his younger self.
Aled tours throughout May and June, including Winchester Cathedral on May 26 and Portsmouth Cathedral on June 2, culminating in a very special ‘home-coming’ show in his home-town of Bangor on July 2.
The tour will see him perform a string of classics along with a series of folk songs he recorded as a boy which are on One Voice. They include: Danny Boy, All Through the Night, Eriskay Love Lilt, O Rowan Tree, Lark in the Clear Air and Ye Banks and braes. He will also perform the much-loved You Raise Me Up.
Speaking about the tour Aled said: “I am very excited about the Cathedral Tour and to know that I will now also be presenting my latest number one album is absolutely fantastic.
“One Voice was an absolute pleasure to record because I am duetting with my younger self which has been such a bizarre but also enjoyable thing to do.
“To now get the opportunity to tour that album along with many other beautiful songs and pieces of music is a joy.
“I am really looking forward to the Cathedral Tour and hope to see many familiar faces as well as new ones in the audience.”
Aled will be supported on tour by classical crossover soprano Julia Clarke.
