THE wind-swept Haworth Moor will be replaced by the scorched desert landscape of Rajasthan as Brontë goes Bollywood in Wuthering Heights.
In this sumptuous musical interpretation a classic tale of passion, jealousy and revenge, Shakuntala is the beautiful and headstrong daughter of merchant Singh while Krishan is the wild street urchin that Singh adopts.
Thrown together as unlikely siblings, their adolescent play soon turns into passion.
But can their love withstand Indian society’s taboos and hierarchies?
Wuthering Heights is the latest show from the leading British Asian company Tamasha – creator of A Fine Balance, Strictly Dandia and the groundbreaking East is East.
