TRAINS are being diverted after a person was killed by a train near Fareham today.
The incident happened at Portchester railway station at around 4.20pm, involving the 4pm service from Portsmouth Harbour to Cardiff.
A spokesman for South West Trains said that passengers on services between Portsmouth Harbour and Southampton Central or Eastleigh stations may be delayed by up to 60 minutes and services between Portsmouth and London Waterloo may be diverted via Guildford.
The British Transport Police said in a statement confirming a person had been killed and that BTP and ambulance services were at the scene removing the body.
A BTP spokesman said the incident was being treated as non-suspicious.
He advised passengers to check with their train company regarding the impact on services.
