A VIDEO appearing to show workers hiding a Pompey shirt in a wall at Saints’ training ground has angered fans.

The 47-second video starts with a man panning a camera across the pitch at the club’s new Staplewood training ground development in Marchwood.

The man appears to be standing close to the balcony of the new facility and he then turns the camera indoors where a colleague, wearing a high visibility jacket and helmet, is standing by a section of wall.

Part of the wall is exposed and contained within it is a Pompey shirt and scarf.

His colleague then proceeds to cover the items with insulation sections and gives the thumbs up sign to the cameraman.

Throughout the short clip, the man with the camera uses a derogatory word to describe Saints fans.

The clip was uploaded to YouTube but was removed yesterday morning by the person who originally posted to the site.

The footage has sparked anger among Saints fans on internet message boards, with some branding it “unprofessional”.

The Daily Echo was unable to contact the firm involved in the building work to confirm whether the footage is genuine or fake.

On Friday, the club flew out to Spain for a training camp and will then head to Austria to continue their pre-season preparations.

The club earlier made the decision to go abroad for pre-season training to avoid disruption from on-going construction work at Staplewood.

The development is expected to be completed later this year.
