A CAR was left completely gutted after it caught fire on a city road this morning.

Smoke billowed over the rooftops of the residential street and flames leapt from the vehicle's windows while a fire crew from the Hightown station tackled the blaze.
The fire was put out just after 8am but the car was left completely destroyed. Police were informed of the incident.
No one was injured and it is thought that no one was in the vehicle at the time.
It is not known exactly what caused the fire to start.
