Diwali celebrations continue in Southampton
IT WAS a night of singing and dancing and a celebratory feast as Diwali celebrations continued in Southampton last night.
Dozens of people tucked in to a banquet as they enjoyed the entertainment at the Vedic Society Hindu Temple as loved ones exchanged gifts.
Celebrations began on Thursday night with thousands of people turning out at the city’s Sikh and Hindu temples to enjoy firework displays as part of the Festival of Light.
The ancient festival, which is celebrated every autumn, spans five days.
