He is hoping his good looks will help to secure him the title of Hampshire’s hottest hunk.
By day Mark Young is an estate agent, while in his spare time he is busy trying to sculpt the perfect body.
Now he’s bidding for glory by entering the race for the Mr Hampshire title – but he desperately wants some healthy competition and is appealing for others to take him on.
As previously reported, the Miss Hampshire contest is expanding this year – and offering men the chance to be crowned Mr Hampshire for the very first time and ultimately compete to be named Mr England.
But so far there has only been one entry for the competition, which takes place in March, and organiser Paula Langley is stunned that more men aren’t signing up.
Mark, 21, from New Milton, has thrown his hat into the ring – but he doesn’t want it to be an easy ride and is looking for other budding male models to sign up.
He said: “I can’t believe other people haven’t applied – it’s not just a beauty pageant, there are so many aspects to it like helping people by raising money for charity. For any guys who think they could be a model it’s a great opportunity to pursue that.”
Paula said: “This is such a great opportunity for young men who want to model or raise money for local and national charities – so where are they?”
The closing date for applications is Saturday, February 21. Any male aged 17-27 who is interested in applying can email Paula at plangley@live.co.uk for an application form or call 07802 625439.
