A POST office’s moving day has been set.

Gosport post office will move this week to a modern new premises in the High Street from its current home on the same road.

The branch will close its doors for the last time today at 5.30pm and reopen tomorrow at 9am.

New postmaster Daljinder Athwal will take over the running of the post office and the current staff will transfer over to the new site.

The new venue will have five counter positions, two open-plan and two screened, and will be open Monday to Saturday, 9am to 5.30pm.

In the future it is plan to have a post office terminal at the shop counter extending services to 8am to 6pm.
