A LORRY carrying 20 tonnes of tarmac has burst into flames on a Hampshire road, leading to major delays for motorists.
Twenty five firefighters were called to the scene on the southbound carriageway of the A3 at about 1.40am.
The eight-wheeled tipper lorry was completely destroyed in the blaze, which happened between Petersfield and Horndean.
Fire crews from Petersfield, Bordon and Alton are using breathing apparatus and jets to extinguish the fire, and the road remains closed between Winchester Road and Chalton Lane.
