TV NEWS anchor Sally Taylor joined hundreds of students at a special Hampshire graduation ceremony.
The BBC South Today presenter received an honorary doctorate from Winchester University at the ceremony at Winchester Cathedral.
She was described as an “icon of broadcasting”, and praised for her affinity with the area giving her broadcasting an “earthiness that is rare”.
Speaking after the graduation ceremony in Winchester Cathedral, Sally Taylor said: “It is incredibly special; I had no idea until a few weeks ago when I had the letter.
"It meant so much because I am getting it for a job that I do that I absolutely love and it makes it all worthwhile and to get it from the University of Winchester which is a fantastic place.”
