AN AMBULANCE man was slashed with a sharp object while being assaulted by two men.

Police are appealing for information after the incident, which happened in Dibden Purlieu on Monday.

The uniformed technician was in an alleyway between Challenger Place and Cosworth Drive between 7.40pm and 7.50pm when he was approached by two men, who verbally abused him.

He was then assault and slashed, leaving him with injuries to his face and arm.

After the attack both attackers ran off towards Cosworth Drive.

One of the men is described as being white, aged between 22 and 24, five feet ten inches tall, with brown hair and of a “scrawny” build.

The second man is described as being white, aged 22 to 24 or slightly younger, six feet one inch tall, of a “scrawny”, and wearing a black hoody with an oriental motif.

A South Central Ambulance Service spokesman said:"SCAS and the private provider organisation are providing support to the victim and assisting Hampshire Constabulary to ensure that the persons responsible are prosecuted."
