SOUTHAMPTON Solent University’s Showcase Gallery will take over the city's Guildhall Square with live art and music on Saturday June 25.
Leading international graffiti artists, street artists and illustrators – including Bonzai, Slam, Latchkeykid, Jinks and Nova - will be showcasing their skills to the public in Street Jam Live.
Artists will be creating work on large scale canvases of perspex, board and industrial cling film throughout, while Illustration Showdown will bring some competition to the jam, with live art battles.
To add to the street vibe, SOCO Music Project will be in residence with an open mic stage, hosting impromptu performances from local hip-hop artists and rhymers.
The free event, which runs from 10am to 5pm, is a great opportunity for all ages to come and see artists and musicians working live. There will be activities for all ages to join in and learn some skills, including live music making, kids chalk area, a community stencil wall and open mic sessions.
Street Jam Live builds on the success of the Street Art Gathering in June 2014.
