A COLOURFUL dancing troupe from a Hampshire sixth form has scooped six prizes at this year's southern Rock Challenge.
Peter Symonds College in Winchester shared plaudits with schools across the south after a stunning show in Portsmouth yesterday.
The team landed the following commendations:
- Hampshire County Council Award of Excellence for Choreography
- Pauline Quirke Academy Award of Excellence for Performance Skill
- Ian Wright Consulting Award of Excellence for Concept
- Hampshire Drug and Alcohol Action Team Award of Excellence for Visual Enhancement
- Police and Crime Commissioner for Surrey Award of Excellence for Entertainment
- HC3S Award of Excellence for Video Performance

The Be Your Best Rock Challenge Southern Open Final A at Portsmouth Guildhall attracted a large audience.
Lord Mayor of Portsmouth Cllr David Fuller attended tonight’s show as well as presenting first place.
He said: “It was absolutely marvellous this evening, I had the pleasure of coming last year and the standard was very high and this year very very high indeed and I couldn’t have picked the best one to be honest with you.”
