Detectives in Southampton have charged two men in connection with the incident that occurred at The Angel Pub on Palmerston Road, Southampton in the early hours of yesterday morning.
Andrew Wrigley, age 26 of Johnson Street, Southampton has been charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent.
Jason Palmer, age 49 of Palmerston Road, Southampton has also been charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent.
Both men will appear before Magistrates tomorrow.
Officers were called at 2.23am to a report of a 48-year-old man with serious injuries to his hands and head.
The man remains in hospital being treated for serious but not life threatening injuries.
A 34-year-old woman arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender has been bailed until January 12.
