A police investigation was launched after a body was found at a Southampton home.
Paramedics were called at around 10am yesterday to the house on Highfield Lane, Highfield, which is understood to be occupied by students, on the corner of Heatherdeane Road.
Four police cars initially attended but the police presence was wound down by late morning.
A neighbour who did not want to be named said he saw plain clothes police officers bring a laptop out of the house in a plastic bag.
He said: “All the students were standing outside and three guys were waiting outside in the garden.”
A resident at the house said: “The police and the ambulance have been here attending to a person this morning – that’s as much as I’m prepared to say.”
Another neighbour said he heard what sounded like cheering someone at a birthday party at around nine pm on Friday night.
This afternoon a police spokesman said: "Police were called at 9.57am to reports of a concern for the welfare of a man at an address on Highfield Lane, Southampton.
"On arrival, officers found the body of a man in his late 20s. Next of kin have been informed."
He added: "The death is not being treated as suspicious and a file is being prepared for the coroner."
