A yachtsman was rushed to hospital after suffering a medical episode onboard a boat in the Solent.
An RNLI crew and Coastguard helicopter were involved in the rescue shortly after 6.40pm yesterday evening after the man complained of chest pains.
A paramedic from the helicopter examined the man, before he was taken to shore by the Cowes RNLI crew, and then onto St Mary’s Hospital in Newport, Isle of Wight by an ambulance.
The man was one of several people aboard the 38ft Marta vessel, which was being towed by a motor cruiser from Cowes to Hamble.
