A BODY has been found in the search for a missing Southampton teenager.

Baha-Eddine Karoui, 18, was last seen leaving his home in Dale Valley Road at about midday on Thursday.

Police and Hampshire Search and Rescue were seen searching the city on Friday afternoon.

The Daily Echo understands that a body was discovered in the Southampton Common area of the city.

A Hampshire Constabulary statement says: "Police searching for missing Baha-Eddine Karoui have found a body in Southampton.

"The family of the 18-year-old from Southampton have been informed.

"Formal identification procedures are ongoing.

"At this stage the death is not being treated as suspicious."
