A CAR dramatically burst into flames on a Hampshire dual carriageway.
Two people escaped unhurt this morning when their car burst into flames on the A3090, near Romsey.
The vehicle was heading towards the Ower roundabout when it caught fire.
The driver pulled up and scrambled out of the vehicle along with two passengers.
But the fire spread to part of a wooden fence beside a neighbouring house.
Two crews from Romsey fire station extinguished the blaze.
The inside lane was coned off while firefighters dealt the incident. Later traffic in the outside lane had to wait while a recovery vehicle moved into position.
Long queues built up southbound. Traffic is now moving again but the inside lane remains closed.
Highway staff are making the scene safe.
