FIREFIGHTERS from across Hampshire have been tackling an 80-tonne rubbish pile blaze.
Crews from Eastleigh joined others around 10pm on Wednesday night after the pile of household rubbish was found alight.
The fire involved 80 tonnes of rubbish, and the crews had been using a digger alongside other mechanical equipment to try to control the blaze.
At its height, Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service said, around 50 firefighters were on scene at the recycling site in Basingstoke.
