FIFTEEN firefighters battled a blaze on a boat on the River Hamble this afternoon.
A small boat next to Hamble River Sailing Club caught fire in the harbour.
Two crews from Hightown Fire Station and one crew from Hamble Fire Station tackled the fire.
The boat was seen from the shore smoking profusely and a witness has said that one man was rescued from the fire by a motor yacht.
A spokesperson from Hampshire Fire and Rescue said: "We were called at 11.07am to a small boat fire by Hamble River Sailing Club.
"We have one jet tackling the fire from the shore and another jet tackling from a life boat.
"No one has been injured.
"The boat has been complete destroyed by the fire and has been handed back over to the owner.
"The stop call came in at 12.33pm."
