A WIDESPREAD printing oversight has led to millions of diaries and calendars across the country being printed with the wrong bank holiday date.
Next year the early May Bank Holiday has been moved from its usual Monday allocation at the start of the month to a Friday.
This has been done to allow for commemorations of the 75th anniversary of VE day on Friday, May 8.
However, it has been reported nationally that an estimated 30 million diaries and calendars have the wrong date on Monday, May 4, as they had already been printed before the switch in day was announced in June.
Retailers including WHSmith, Clintons and Paperchase have admitted they have aisles full of 2020 products which contain the date error.
