THIS picture shows bad flooding in Northam, Southampton, in the early 1900s.
Shop owners and residents can be seen gazing out of their doors and windows as floodwater swishes around at the junction of Clarence Street and Millbank Street.
In the distance, further up Millbank Street, a horse and cart can be seen which looks to be clear of the floodwater.
Further In the distance the gas works loom which would have been owned by the Southampton Gaslight and Coke Company at the time.
