Even during lockdown, the Southampton firm have been busy hiring out soft play equipment, garden bouncy castles and mini disco domes for home use with non contact deliveries.

Plus their team of much-loved mascots, including Paw Patrol and PJ Masks characters, the Easter bunny and Buzz Lightyear from Toy Story, have been doing a roaring trader of socially distanced doorstep visits around the city and further afield.

Chris Blake started out as a pub DJ 20 years ago.

He told the Daily Echo: "I started with a disco and karaoke night and became popular very fast, starting to do private parties and kids discos.

"Word of mouth spread fast and I started being booked up every Friday, Saturday and Sunday night, as well as doing quiz nights during the week.

"This escalated to a point where we had 19 DJs out every week covering up to 40 pubs and private events.

"As a company we are able to cover every level of entertainment required from discos to bouncy castles, from soft play to balloon modelling, from band management to master of ceremonies. Our team are able to entertain at all levels required to make sure your day is amazing and never forgotten.

"Blake Entertainment has been devastated by the Covid-19 pandemic with all levels of booking being cancelled across the board.

"We have been able to change the way we are doing some private hire sensory play blocks and mini disco dome for personal home use along with social distancing mascot visits, but nothing else has been possible."
