Housed in the historic Botley Mills, diners have the choice of three beautiful dining rooms in which to enjoy lunch or dinner or perhaps a popular bottomless lunch or private party.
Opened in 2018, the team at The Old Mill came together to try to create something they believed would appeal to people wanting to enjoy great food and wine, served by caring staff in a unique setting.
Since then they've built a great reputation and are the number one place to eat in Botley on Trip Advisor as well as being listed highly for both Southampton and Hampshire.
Starters include pan fried asparagus and smoked bacon or a baked open mushroom stuffed with creamy mushrooms and stilton for starters, alongside mains such as fillet steak with a surf of king prawns accompanied by hand cut chips, cherry tomatoes and tempura battered onion rings or Pan Fried Cod Loin, Parmentier Potatoes and Smoked Bacon, Pea Veloute, Spring Onion, Pea Shoots and Bacon Shard.
The steaks, supplied by nearby Owton's, always go down a storm and signature Espresso Martinis are another big seller.
The extensive wine list features the Wickham English Sparkling Cuvee as a house favourite.
James Davies from the restaurant told the Daily Echo: "It appears people really like what we do and the comments, referrals and repeat business all reinforce that. We set our standards high and aim to keep delivering. We like to make people feel special and always give a warm welcome."
The Old Mill's main dining room has stunning original features including a waterfall and milling hopper, while The Ruston Room still has the original millstone housing in place, as well as the fantastic early 1900’s engine that the room takes its name from as its centrepiece.
The Heritage Room is more intimate and can be booked for celebrations.
