FIREFIGHTERS rushed to a fire in Hythe last night that saw a van completely destroyed.
The fire service was called at 10.10pm yesterday to the blaze at Beech Crescent.
A van was alight as well as a wooden fence.
Crews from Hardley and Hythe used two breathing apparatus to tackle the fire.
A Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue spokesperson told the Echo that the van had been "100% destroyed".
Firefighters stepped down at 10.43pm and the incident was handed over to police.
A police spokesperson said: "We were called by Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service at 10.12pm on Monday 27 December following reports of vehicle fire at Beech Crescent in Hythe.
"A white Ford transit van was abandoned at the scene, completely burnt out.
"The incident is not being treated as suspicious."
