Hampshire and IOW Fire Service advice on No Smoking Day
FIREFIGHTERS have issued advice to smokers.
Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service said most house fires are caused by cigarettes.
Posting online on No Smoking Day, marked on Wednesday, the service said: "More people die in fires in the home caused by cigarettes and smoking products than any other cause – another reason to quit this No Smoking Day.'
They warn people to "make sure you put it out - right out".
The fire service also warns people to never smoke in bed and to smoke outdoors.
