UPDATE: The road has now been cleared and reopened after the earlier fire. Delays are now gone.
ONE lane has been blocked on a Hampshire motorway after a vehicle caught fire.
The blaze is currently stopping traffic on one lane of the M271 in Southampton.
The blockage is between Junction 3 for the M27 and Junction 1 for Brownhill Way.
A spokesperson for the fire service said crews from Redbridge, Eastleigh and St Mary's are on the scene.
They were called at 3.47 pm.
The spokesperson added that the crews are "on scene working to extinguish a fire underneath a lorry trailer involving tyres."

Photos of the scene show three fire engines on the scene as well as several other emergency vehicles.
Delays are now building in the area.
