Karolina Such has spoken of her grief after three men were sentenced to life in prison for the murder of her son, Dawid.

In a victim impact statement read out at Winchester Crown Court on Thursday, Ms Such said her life ‘has come to a halt.’
She said: “I only feel emptiness, grief, and suffering. Nothing brings me joy and I feel like someone has ripped out my heart.
“I can’t imagine the rest of my days without him.
“Nobody had the right to take his life. I gave him life and he was supposed to live it with us.
“He was a lovely child with a good heart and it’s impossible to describe what we feel inside.
“Nothing will ever be the same.”
In the attack on July 24 last year, Dawid suffered stab wounds to his back, leg, abdomen and arm.
He died shortly after arriving in hospital.
The court heard how Miroslawa Krawczyk, Dawid’s grandmother, was with him on that day.

Describing how her life has changed since then, she said: “Dawid’s life was taken in a brutal way. They attacked my defenceless grandson.
“My life has completely lost its meaning. He would always say I was his beloved grandma.
“I can’t cope with Dawid not being here anymore. Each day for me is toil and suffering.
“I don’t know how to live; I feel like I am fading away.
“What kind of person takes away a young person’s life?”
Speaking at the sentencing on Thursday, the honourable Mr Justice Wall offered his condolences to Dawid Such’s family.
He said: “I want to offer my condolences to the family and friends of Mr Such.
“I know there’s nothing this court can do to return to them what they have lost.
“I hope now that this trial has ended it will help them to move on in some small way in their lives.”
