Emergency services including the coastguard were called to an incident at Southampton Water.
The Hillhead Coastguard Rescue Team tweeted that their Rescue 175 helicopter was sent out to a medical incident on board a vessel in the tidal estuary north of the Solent.
Their paramedic was winched down to the vessel and was able to care for the person affected.
The Hamble Lifeboat was also sent to the scene and together with the coastguard, the casualty was taken to Hamble.
Here, they were passed into the care of paramedics from the South Coast Ambulance Service, which they described as 'team work' in action with regard to the incident on Friday.
The Hillhead Coastguard Rescue Team covers the area between Portsmouth Harbour and West Southampton and describe themselves as search, water rescue and mud rescue specialists.
The Hamble Lifeboat Service was formed in 1968 in response to accidents and fatalities in the River Hamble, Southampton Water and Central Solent areas.
