I worked as a nurse at Romsey Hospital in the early 1970s and the house discovered was the residence of the gardener.

He was a lovely old man who taught me how to prune roses. He tended the grounds and kitchen garden.

The bottom garden was offered to the staff as allotments after he left and my family worked our allotment for many years.

It was a most pleasant place and patients recovering would often be taken for a walk outside along the allotments.

Much happier days then!
