Co-op has reopened its store in Chandler’s Ford following a 16-week makeover.
The store in Winchester Road supports 16 jobs and now opens between 6am-10pm, seven days a week.
New features at the store include an in-store bakery, a Costa coffee dispenser – which is now part of Co-op’s meal deal offer, self-service tills and hot food.
There is also a cash machine and customer car parking.
Co-op’s store manager, Anna Ballinger, said: “We have had a great response, and the whole team is delighted to have had the opportunity to carry out such a significant investment.
“The store looks amazing, with brand new refrigeration, fixtures and fittings it has been completely transformed and looks brand new. We would like to thank our customers for their support during the works.
“We are really looking forward to welcoming Members and customers into their Co-op now that the works have concluded.
“Our aim here is to always operate at the heart of local life and make a difference in the community.
“We have worked to develop the range, choice and added services to create a compelling offer, locally and conveniently, with a focus on delivering member-value so that the people who own our business, our members, benefit every time they shop.”
Groceries are now also available through online home delivery apps such as Deliveroo, Just Eat and Uber Eats.
The Co-op has continued to serve customers from a temporary store at the location to provide a range of everyday essentials while the work was taking place.
In August, Co-op announced its biggest ever single investment in pricing of £70 million, as it extended its ‘member-only’ pricing across everyday essentials.
The retailer launched the price investment with a list of nearly 200 fixed lines including milk, eggs and bread, with a Co-op sliced loaf priced at just 76p.
