I had a rather unpleasant surprise on the morning of New Year's Day while enjoying a pleasant walk and fresh air along Hockley Viaduct.
Right in the middle of the viaduct, spread across its full width, was a rather large deposit left by a horse. I am no expert but would hazard a guess that it had not been there very long.
Why are those who bring horses along footpaths like this allowed to get away with leaving large unpleasant piles for somebody else to clear up after them?
I just hope no children out on their new Christmas bikes or scooters came into contact with the mess, although they would have had a bit of a job avoiding it.
When are those with horses going to start clearing up the large mess left on public paths by these animals? They have no consideration whatsoever for other users of the path.
