He was the well-known Southampton musician who once played in a travelling circus band and set up the city's monthly musicians curry club.
Saxophonist Sid Carter has died, aged 80.
His life will be celebrated at a special musical tribute event at The Concorde Club in Eastleigh next month with a line-up personally selected by Sid prior to his death, just before Christmas.

Headliners at the event, on Sunday February 4, will be Paul Francis & Friends, The Pete Harris Blues Band and Sid's own band Sunflower.
Sid started playing clarinet and moved onto saxophone for what became a lifelong love of the instrument.
He played in a number of bands including the Ronnie Horler Band, Real Ale and Thunder, Geoff Thomas Selection, Fatz Dinosaur, Sunflower, Mickeys Rock and Soul, Andy Carter’s Sunset Band, Harry Hammersmith and The Flyovers.
His music took him throughout the UK and abroad for decades and included a season playing with a travelling circus as saxophonist in the band.
His own band Sunflower has run for many years and featured many of Southampton’s finest musicians. The band plans to carry on.
Sid was a very gifted graphic artist, photographer and travel writer. He travelled extensively around the world, predominately to parts of South East Asia particularly Vietnam, documenting his many experiences.
His other passions included cookery, and sea fishing. An avid Saints supporter and keen follower of the England cricket team, he never missed a match, whether in person or on TV.
As a cricketer, Sid was a decent bowler who played for Michelmersh and Timsbury Cricket Club.
He instigated the popular Southampton Musicians Curry Club, a monthly gathering of local musicians supporting what he considered to be Southampton's best restaurants. The club has been running for several years and plans to continue in his honour.
Sid will be fondly remembered by his daughter Sarah, granddaughter Faun, sister Sheila and nephews John and Andy.
Entry to An Evening to Remember Sid Carter is free and donations to Cancer Research UK are welcome. Doors open at 6pm for the gig which is between 7pm and 10pm.
Sid's family have set up a Cancer Research UK fundraising page, which can be found at sidcarter.muchloved.com
