'Thoroughly clean the cooker hob'

The restaurant was found with dirty floors, the report said: “The floor in the washing up area below the sink was dirty, especially at floor/wall junctions and behind or below equipment.

“Thoroughly clean the floor and maintain it in a clean condition.

“The cooker hob in the kitchen was not clean. Thoroughly clean the cooker hob to minimise any risk of contamination of food.

“The door seal of the freezer in the retail servery area was dirty. Clean/renew the door seal.”

The wash basins provided for food handlers were not being used.

The report said: “Ensure the wash hand basin has an adequate supply of hot and cold, or appropriately mixed, running water, soap and hygienic means of drying hands.

“Properly connect the wash hand basin to the drainage system and ensure that everyone understands that it is for hand washing only.”

During the inspection, it was also found that bottled sauces were being stored at room temperature in the kitchen.

The report noted these foods are likely to support the growth of food poisoning bacteria or information of toxins and must be stored above 8C.

Other things were found not to be clean.

It said: “The cooker hob in the kitchen was not clean. Thoroughly clean the cooker hob to minimise any risk of contamination of food.

“The door seal of the freezer in the retail servery area was dirty. Clean/renew the door seal.”

The report added: “The mastic to the metal wall covering in the washing-up area adjacent to the sink was deteriorated and cannot easily be cleaned.

“Renew mastic around the sink and leave in a sound easy-to-clean condition.”
