Police are still searching for a flasher after a series of indecent exposures by Southampton Common – almost a week after the latest incident.

On Thursday, police appealed for information about the spree.

At 4pm on April 14, a man in his 30s was approached by a man unknown to him on Southampton Common, who began shouting at him and making sexual comments.

Around five hours later, at around 9.10pm, a woman in her 30s was approached by a man unknown to her, again on Southampton Common.

He indecently exposed himself to her while attempting to engage in conversation with her.

Two days later, at around 4:30pm on Tuesday April 16, it was reported that a man had indecently exposed himself to a woman in her 30s on a footpath on Southampton Common.

Police said that nobody was injured or assaulted on either occasion and each person left the area before reporting the incidents to police.

Speaking on Thursday, a police spokesperson said: “We are investigating a number of indecent exposure incidents over the past few days in Southampton and would like to hear from anyone with information.

“We have been carrying out enquiries into these incidents and officers will remain in the area conducting proactive patrols over the coming days, at various times of the day and night.

“While we carry out our investigation, we would like to urge anyone who has been the victim of any incidents of this nature or has seen anything suspicious in the Southampton Common area to please report it to us.”

Officers involved in the case have now confirmed that no further incidents have been reported following the police’s appeal for further information - but that no arrests had been made.
