Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust secured the Hospital Catering Team of the Year title at the Hospital Caterers Association presidents’ dinner.

Gosport War Memorial Hospital's catering unit received the award and was lauded for their efficient teamwork, high quality food services, and commendable customer satisfaction.

The team's consistent achievement of a 5-star hygiene rating is significant and their work with dietitians and specialists to establish meal plans for patients with swallowing difficulties has been noted.

Dietitian Pepa Richardson emphasised the team's patient-centric approach, their innovation with new dishes, and focus on enhancing menu nutrition.

The Gosport team prepares 700 meals daily for the Trust's estate, covering 14 units across Hampshire.

Andy Mosley, associate director of Estates Services said: "I am very proud of the catering team who work 365 days of the year to ensure our patients and staff receive the very best choice of nutritious food.

"To win this award is a real recognition how hard the team work at Gosport and when it is awarded from fellow professionals it makes it a greater achievement."
