A motorcycle rider has praised the fire service for its quick response after his bike went up in flames as he drove along a Southampton road.
Michael Bennett, 39, was driving his Piaggio motorcycle along Terminus Terrace at around 1.30pm today when he was flagged down by another driver.
He stopped and pushed his bike to the curb before it went up in flames just outside Bar Terminus.
The fire service was called to the scene and the area was cordoned off whilst the blaze was extinguished.

The blaze was out by around 2pm and now Michael has praised the fire service for its speedy response to the incident.
He told the Echo: "I had been out riding in The New Forest and was on my way home when it happened. I was sat, waiting in traffic in the middle lane.
"I noticed smoke, but it was when someone on the other side of the road stopped and pointed at my bike that I pushed it onto the curb.
"There was a lot of flames and black smoke. The Fire Brigade was very swift.
"I was amazed at how quick the fire service was, especially considering how bad the traffic is on a match day. It only took them a couple of minutes to come out to me.
"There have never been any issues before other than this incident, I recommend the bike. This is my main mode of transport."
The three-wheel bike was cordoned off by firefighters after extinguishing the fierce blaze.
The northbound side of the road was reopened to motorists after the incident was dealt with.
The 39-year-old is now in conversations with his insurance company to cover the cost of the damage which is estimated to be around £2,500 to £3,000.
The motorbike is due to be removed this afternoon.
Michael added: "I need to get a new bike, so I can travel to work in Chilworth."
Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service has been approached for comment, while Hampshire Constabulary confirmed they were made aware of the incident.
