Police have arrested a 15-year-old boy after five robberies in Dibden Purlieu.

The boy was detained on April 27 on suspicion of five robberies and a public order offence.

Police confirmed the boy has since been released on conditional police bail, pending further enquiries.

The arrest followed several reported incidents between 3.30pm and 4pm on Tuesday, April 23.

It is understood that the victims of the robberies were all aged 16 or under. It is alleged that threats were made towards them in an attempt to steal property.

A spokesperson for the force said: "Since the incidents, local officers have been carrying out extensive enquiries, as well as providing a significantly increased presence in the area.

"Alongside high-visibility patrols, teams have been engaging with schools, teachers, pupils and parents, offering advice and reassurance in the process.
