Beer lovers are spoilt for choice at the pub, with an extensive range of real ales alongside an excellent choice of draught beers including lager.
Brewing beers under the ‘Queen Inn Pub & Microbrewery’ brand, the micro-brewery at the pub is always trying new things, resulting in eclectic new beers for enthusiasts to try alongside a core range of beers brewed on-site that are popular with regulars.
The Queen Inn is run by Iain Warren and Jenny Small, who also operate The Willow Tree on Easton Lane in the city where Queen Inn beers also prove popular.
The couple told the Daily Echo: "As a pub and microbrewery that really prides itself on the quality and selection of its beer, we are delighted.
"We would like to thank our incredible team of brewing and pub staff who do such a great job of creating our great beers and ensuring they are perfectly served and conditioned in pub.”
Lamb shank, chicken supreme, burger and haddock and chips are among the quality, home-cooked dishes on the menu, which uses local produce wherever possible and offers everything from light snacks to a full three course meal.
On summer weekends, the outdoor kitchen The Shack serves customers in the large pub garden.
The Night of Excellence Awards celebrate the success of great licensees and the businesses they run in partnership with Greene King Pub Partners. There are 14 awards ranging from Community Pub of the Year to Entertainment Pub of the Year. The awards event was attended by over 140 licensees from across the country.
Rob Ayling, Business Development Manager for Greene King Pub Partners, said: “ What more could you want or need? This award cements The Queen Inn as one of the very best pubs in the UK.”
