AN inquest has opened into the death of a man found lifeless in Southampton's Eastern Docks.
The body of Benjamin Williams, 42, was found in the water at Empress Dock, off the River Itchen, on July 19.
Speaking at Winchester Coroners' Court, area coroner Jason Pegg said it is unclear exactly when Mr Williams died.

Mr Williams, who lived at Biddlesgate Court, Upper Bugle Street, Southampton, died an "unnatural" death of drowning, the court heard.
Empress Dock is part of the larger complex of Southampton Docks, sitting at the confluence of the River Itchen and the River Test.
The police compared the body's tattoos with those stored on their database to identify Mr Williams.
A full inquest into Mr Williams' death will be held on April 30 next year.
