ARMED robbers have raided a Hampshire pub today, it has been revealed.
Officer were called just after midnight this morning, Saturday, September 11 after two men armed with a machete burst into The Cricketers Pub, Cricket Hill Lane, in Yateley and demanded the cash from the cashpoint.
Staff handed over the cash box from it when the men threatened to slash them and they ran off.
It’s believed the men ran off on foot towards a small wooded copse area that lead towards Handford Lane.
Armed police units, local officers and a dog unit searched the area but were unable to trace the men.
Detective Sergeant Richard Rowledge who is leading the team of detectives working on the case said “This kind of incident is very unusual in a place like Yateley and we are doing out utmost to find those responsible as quickly as possible.
