ONE of the world’s most iconic fighter planes will be tipping its wings to the county that created it today.
Thousands will gather to salute the Spitfire as it soars across Southampton skies as part of the celebrations to mark the aircraft’s 75th anniversary.
Crowds are expected to flock to Mayflower Park to witness the commemorative flypast.

She will head down the River Itchen, to Mayflower Park, along Southampton Water towards Weston Shore and Victoria Country Park before returning to Eastleigh.
