POLICE last night confirmed the man they were questioning was not escaped convict Ricardo Pisano, who is the prime suspect in a Brighton murder and is known to have been in Southampton .
The 35-year-old was last seen captured on CCTV in The Marlands shopping centre in the city since going on the run.
Pisano is wanted following the discovery earlier this year of 62-year-old Michael Polding’s body at his flat.
Police say he has a number of aliases and might have changed his appearance. He walked out of a New Zealand correctional unit in 2001 where he was serving a sentence for fraud.
Police released CCTV footage which shows his last sighting in Southampton on July 28.
