A TEENAGER who tried to raise the alarm as he was being robbed watched helplessly as two men walked by without helping him.
The youngster tried desperately to attract the attention of the men as he was being threatened by a youth armed with a bottle, even tugging on their coats as they walked past.
But despite his attempts the pair carried on walking and didn’t intervene.
The 16-year-old was crossing the footbridge between Marsh Lane and Chantry Road in Southampton in the middle of the day when he was attacked.
In the end the youngster was forced to hand over his property, which included a mobile phone and even a 50 pence piece.
Although not injured, the 16-year-old was left very shaken by the attack on Monday, December 28.
Police are hunting the attacker, who was described as a white youth, about 14, with short, brown hair.
He had light blue eyes and was wearing grey tracksuit bottoms and a dark coloured hooded top.
Officers investigating the robbery would like to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time, recognises the description of the suspect, or knows the whereabouts of the phone, which was an LG W300 in black and sliver.
Anyone with information can contact PC Ali Osmond at Hulse Road on 101 or 0845 045 4545 if calling from outside Hampshire.
