A SOUTHAMPTON school for disabled children is set to be rebuilt as part of the Government’s Priority School Building Programme.
Cedar School in Redbridge Lane is one of 261 schools across the country that will be rebuilt or have their conditions met as part of the programme.
The new school will provide a range of facilities including a hydrotherapy pool and support therapy, sensory and physiotherapy areas as well as classrooms with group rooms, support areas for the children and a learning resource centre.
The work will be paid for by the Department of Education.
A full planning application will be submitted to the city council in June and building work is expected to start in late 2013 for the new school to be open in September 2014.
People can see the plans at a public consultation event at the school today from 1.30pm to 8pm.
